My curiosity was growing
Just as my life in Bali was peaking

I had been in Bali 3 months now
Living in a beautiful villa in the rice fields
Dancing 4-5x a week
Spending each day with new friends, either those I met that week or those I met the first days I arrived
And also saying goodbye every week to friends I had grown to love

That’s the thing with traveling
It is very transient
One day you meet someone who feels like a soulmate best friend
And 3 weeks later, after spending almost every day with them, they’re gone

Such a teaching of non-attachment
Learning how to grieve and also hold gratitude

Those I felt depth with, a deep connection, no longer with me
A constant changing community

February 16th, 2024

9am on a Friday
Friday’s were my flow days
I never had too much planned, allowing for whatever wanted to come into the day

My phone began to ring
And as I looked down the caller ID read: Michiel

“Yes, Michiel,” I answered

Michiel and I had been sweet with each other since meeting in December
We shared a lot of depth and grew into deep unconditional love
We bounced between playfulness, annoyance, presence and an energy that felt nuanced to the both of us

Through our communication and expereince’s together, Michiel started to call me “The Iconic Jesse Bax”
An adjective I proudly would wear ( and still wear to this day )

“Is this THE. ICONIC. Jesse Bax?” he said on the other line

“It is she, speaking,” I responded playfully

“The Tribe is hosting a Trinity Day today, and we need another to make all groups even. Want to join us?”

— The Tribe —
This is one of the names the community called themselves.
They also were known as The Field.

— Trinity Day —
A day where the community would be paired into groups of 3. This was done either randomly or by a woman named Phoebe, who was tapped into the energy of The Field.
This day would consist of depth, connection, processing, and whatever the 3 people wanted to do. This could be getting food, playing padel, going to a waterfall, or sitting in a villa.
Each Trinity Day would invite you to connect more deeply with yourself and with those who you were paired with, to strengthen the energy of The Tribe.
